Custom Neckerchiefs

I know many of the boy scout troops out there have custom neckerchiefs. We get ours from Eastern Emblem Mfg.

They have done nice work in the past, pretty quick on turnaround and the cost averages about $6.50 per embroidered piece for bulk orders. We are about to do a reorder, but I am curious as to other vendors out there and your experience with them.

 

Where do you get your custom neckerchiefs from? Prices? Quality?

Take a look at http://www.scoutneckers.com/. They are not in the US, but will ship here. You'll have to use a currency converter to figure out the prices. We considered using them at one time, but currently go necker-less. They make a boy size and an adult size neckerchief, have a host of colors and have unique border designs you won't find here in the US. They have a fun design your own section where you can experiment with the various borders, diagonals, stripes and colors.

We've also made 'em ourselves and had them custom printed. That way we had total control over design, especially the size (we made them larger). Now we really can do first aid stuff with them.

At camporees and such, our troop is instantly recognizable because of our unique and colorful red-white-and-blue neckerchiefs.

 

We also use the neckerchief to reinforce instant recognition after rank advancement. When a new recruit earns his SCOUT rank, he gets his first neckerchief, which is a plain tri-color. When he earns TENDERFOOT, he is awarded a new neckerchief, this time with an embrioidered white star (Lone Star state, ya know...). When he makes FIRST CLASS, he again gets a new neckerchief, this time with the snazzy embrodered troop thunderbird logo. Finally, EAGLE Scouts are allowed to wear the troop neckerchief trimmed in gold.

 

Earning that thunderbird neckerchief is quite a goal for the first year guys!
