cbmstr922
Does anyone know where a Central Region Patch is to be sewn on a district Executive Shirt? I cannot find its location on line and believe it to be temporary insignia. Any help would be appreciated.
NWScouter
I believe I have seen it always on the right sleeve
Proud Eagle
I do not have the uniform and insignia guide in front of me, so I can't say what the right answer is. However, like NW, every time I have seen someone wearing a region patch (Southern in my part of the country) it has been on the right sleeve. FScouter
The Insignia Guide says it goes on the right sleeve, in position 2. That is where troop numerals would go, just below the council shoulder patch.
NWScouter
The right sleeve is the one where on a youth the den number or patrol patch is worn. Position 1 on that sleeve is the American flag. The left sleeve is the one with the troop number.
Eamonn
Not to be nosey but.... I thought that only Regional staff wore this patch. Eamonn
NWScouter
I believe that Scouting professionals are considered part of the region. You will also see this on Scouters who hold positions in the region and sometimes the section OA officials will wear it.
Eamonn
To the Gentleman from the NW. Yes Sir it sounds as if you are right. I have also seen Jamboree staff members wear the Regional Patch. I asked after looking at cbmstr922 profile, which doesn't include any of the positions that would entail wearing the patch. Eamonn
cbmstr922
Thanks for all the help. It is not for my husband cbmstr922 uniform. I am doing a good deed for our DE and sewing the patches on. Just wanted to get it right.
shemgren
It goes on the right shelve, postion 3, leaving space for the patrol medalion below the American Flag. I wear a American Legion Boy Scout patch in that position. Scott
FScouter
Quoting from the Insignia Guide: "This insignia is reserved for regional officers, regional committee members, local council professional Scouters, and national staff with a regional responsibility and is worn on the right sleeve in position 2. As NWScouter pointed out, the patrol patch is in the same position, which is position 2, immediately under and touching the flag patch. Boys would not be authorized to wear a regional patch, and adults don't wear patrol patches. Touching the flag is correct.
