  1. Hello, My son is a new Scout in a Troop. He was a Tiger-Web II, (I was his leader so I'm pretty familiar with the Cub program, but not with Boy Scouts) He is in a Troop of about 20-25 active boys with 4 patrols. His new patrol is being guided by an older Scout and an Asst SM. It seems to run fine. But I'm not sure I understand what the older boys are suppose to doing Troop meetings. These are boys who are from Second Class-Star with one Eagle. During the mtgs, other than when they a specifically planning for an outing, they just seem to be goofing around all the time.
  2. Thanks to everyone's input. I wanted to buy the military popcorn with our donation and then provide the remaining to the Pack. I was outvoted at our committee mtg (5 to 4), mostly by the parents who sons recevied the donations who felt "they worked their tails off" to get the donations. I hardly think so, so much for the scouting spirit when it comes to money.

Hi, Looking for sources that folks have been happy with..thanks
  4. thanks..what rationale can I use for the parents who want to keep some of it in their son's scout account. They feel he was out there "working for the pack" and should keep the same percentage as the popcorn sale.
  5. Hi, During our popcorn booth sales, we had customers also provid donations to our Pack. When we sell popcorn, we allow the boys to keep 1/3 of the Packs profit for their Scout account. My question is: Should the same be allowed for the donations? Or should the donations be received on behalf of the whole pack and the total amount be received for the Pack? Thanks for your thoughts?
  6. Thanks.. Does the Scout get credit for the sale (toward prizes) if we substutue the left over popcorn into their orders from customers?
  7. This is our first year selling popcorn at store front. We bought a small amount of 4 diffent kind. One of them was the cheese tin that sells for $30. At our first store sell, we sold out of everything (great) except for the cheese that we only sold 1 of 30 tins. We have two more sells, but I'm afraid we won't sell the cheese because of the cost I've asked if we could turn unopened boxes in and have been told no. Any suggestions or help? Thanks
