I was reading an article and the article referenced a master-at-arms badge where you had to be proficient in two “combat” sports like fencing or jiu jitsu. It said that the badge was part of the original 14 badges of merit. I can’t find anything online agout these initial 14 badges of merit. Can anyone offer any help?

So what is the best handbook edition to get alongside the current issue? An edition that has the “old school” scouting in it? Is it a good idea to reference both while going through the current version?

Just getting my two older boys into scouting. Both in cub scouts, but will soon by in boy scouts. Wanting to learn.
