  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong olace.. but doesn't anyone have the registration link for NCS? My council can't find it and has been trying to get with National but they keep olaying phone tag. I got on scout wire and it sent me back to my council. Just trying to help them out. Everyone is up to their eyeballs in FOS right now so anything I can do to help out, I am more than willing. I don't want it to fill up. I get to go to Sea Base and it is the only week I can go because of my job.

  2.

I had one kid last year that single handedly sold 750

Awesome! My son wants to tell a bunch this year. We don't sell many as individuals.. but we do very well at show and sells..

However, my son sold $3098 in popcorn this year and he wants to sell that much in camp cards. Don't know if I can handle that. Popcoen nearly killed us and we have cookies coming up.

  3. I try. My district is very short on Volunteers. It's the same people doing everything. Other districts in my council are not like that, but ours is strange. I have an awesome new DE and he is working to change that, but for now, it is me and a few other..

  4. I live in Chattanooga, TN and we sell the crap out of these. I think our pack sold almost 1000 of these last year, not sure of the exact total.

Ours is a credit card sized middle, with 3 tears off. We have Publix, Ace Hardware and Sportsman's Warehouse as sponsers for tear offs. Papa Johns, an oil change place and some more on the middle. Sportsmans lets one Pack per day set up outside. We have sold a few hundred on a Saturday. Granted.. we have a few smart parents on our committee who set up show and sell's to coincide with hunting opening days. They tear off is $10 per $100 and SW let them use multiple cards. We had people buying 10 and 20 cards.

If you have good sponsers that are in your council, then you should do well.

    Good luck!

  5. I am not sure if I am putting this in the right place, so please move it if you need to.. but I am seriously hoping someone can help!

I am going to Sea Base for Camp School and I have no idea what to expect.

Is it at the Conference/Training Center?

Do we sleep in the dorms or hotel part?

    What to bring?

Is there any free time at all?

I have tons of questions, but have been scouring the google for hours and and can't find anything, but just now found this site. I live in Chattanooga, TN and will be driving by myself down there. Any and ALL advice will be appreciated. I will be the Program Director for WEBELOS Resident Camp at Skymont Scout Reservation this summer.

  6. Hi! I'm late to the conversation, I know.. but Skymont is in my council. I work part time for the council shop and I just wanted to throw out that Skymont is undergoing a lot of changes this summer.

First of all, the Camp Director (Buford) is now just the ranger. Scott Martin will be the new Camp Director. He is a young guy, Eagle Scout, former teacher. There will be a new Commissioner. They are working on hiring a new Program Director. They have added new merit badges. Scott is aware of the current complaints. I had a long conversation with him on Friday. He knows that last summer sucked and their were problems. I was up there for WEBELOS Camp, and we had to deal with the take down crew, and one could tell that it had been a mess. Scott is on a mission to improve Skymont. It won't happen over night or in a summer, but I do ask that you give it a chance. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

  7. Hi There!

I don't even know how to describe what I do!! For my son's pack, I am a WEBELOS I Leader, as well as the Activities Chair. I am basically a glorified party planner for the pack. But I love it. For my district, I am the CS Roundtable Chair as well as the Activities Chair. I also work part time in our Council Scout Shop.

My son is a WEB I. My husband is an Eagle and the Cubmaster of our pack. I also have a 7 year old Brownie in Girl Scouts.

Not sure what else I should say....
