  1. We split them into two dens. We will identify the dens as #1 & #2 as well as let the boys call themselves Den 1 Red Wolves, Den 2 Gray Wolves. I'll let them make Den flags, etc. All should go well from here on. Thanks for all of your advice. Happy Scouting! Bob Warhawk
  2. I understand what you are saying. I think rather than 1 & 2 I might go with Red Wolves & Grey Wolves. This way they can make a Den Flag, etc. and have something visible to relate to instead of just a number. As for competition causing resentment, I disagree with that. I'm of the belief that competition is healthy for growth. (Just my humble opinion)
  3. I think I fixed the poll. It was goofy how it set the expiration date to the 1970's. Don't get me started on the book work. That is part of the reason for our strife. You'd swear these handbooks were written by nursery school teachers. These boys joined Scouting to Scout. Not color and paste and do homework. I detest the book work.
  4. I know protocol says only Weblos & Boy Scouts can have Patrol Patches on their uniforms. But, have any of you let the younger boys wear them on their blue uniforms? We are having to split the group into 2 Dens. And, needless to say, some of our boys are bummed about being separated from their chums. My Assistant Cubmaster & I are trying to come up with a fun way to ease them into the separation. My first thought w
  5. We doubled our Pack size. We added nearly 40 boys. Recruiting/Boy Talks work! Now we must turn our focus to RETENTION!
  6. This is fantastic. I have been looking for a forum like this. I'm an alumni Scout, Cubmaster and father of some outdoors loving boys. Happy Scouting!
