  1. Genesis 2:18 - 22 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him." Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He
  2. Read the Bible. A day is a day, silly. If you cannot take part of it as truth, then tell me how you determine the parts that are truth and the ones that are not? In Genesis 1, God created all of the animals then he created man and woman. In Genesis 2, God created man, then because man was lonely he started making animals. Finally he made woman. Which part is true? Did the animals come first or second? Is woman just an improvement on the Irish Setter? Maybe, maybe not? Setters don't nag. :-)
  3. zorny? That's the epitome of rudeness. I>Oh, and then when you say "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Name calling and rudeness." maybe you do have a sense of humor - name calling and rudeness really have been your hallmark lately, haven't they!? if there's issues there you'd like to discuss on the side, I'm qualified. I find it interest that so many chide me for my rudeness but yet you stoop to my level. Shouldn't you rise above me, turn the other cheek, and all that? Okay DeMann, so there's a book from 1954 that goes into Hebrew law. That still doesn't address my question. Are there recor
  4. these kids will probably not have sleeping bags and camping equipment - and the troop may not have tents and stuf for awhile. Neither are the parents likely to have equipment. Old handbooks show how to improvise equipment. A couple of blankets make a sleeping bag and pad. A tarp with rope makes a tent. Heck, who can forget the directions from making a pack out of pants? I don't know if the new books include this information. Right now my son's handbook is MIA.
  5. I will give you a hint. the first trial was illegal since it was held at night. by Hebrew law, it was null and void. Do you have any evidence other than some self serving books written by the criminal's followers? Are there 2000 year old records from the court? How about some Roman records?
  6. It is a truism that whistle-blowers get the shaft in the end. Not that it is right, just a fact of our society. The perception is that you aired your family's (BSA) dirty laundry in public. If you had worked within the system, you may have gotten someone else fired and been considered a heroine.
  7. Just because a person is convicted, doesnt mean he did anything wrong is what I was trying to say, with the death row inmates as my proof. Wrong depends on the point of view. Saddam Hussein probably doesn't see much wrong in the destruction of the World Trade Center. Wallace and Henry were criminals under the laws of their countries. Your "covert operatives" are criminals plain and simple. The fact that they work for us doesn't make them any less a criminal. Christ was a criminal who was tried and executed. You probably think that OJ is a criminal and should be executed. D
  8. So Zorn, while it's interesting for you, it's a waste of time for someone else? You might be unable to see the difference but reading old threads for the first time is much different than searching through them from quotes. here's another pair interestingly juxtaposed excerpts: Sarcasm must escape you, my response to him was in the same vein of his previous comments to me. I'm extending you very little courtesy, if any, but that's because you've been such an unrecalcitrant jerk lately Tsk, tsk, tsk. Name calling and rudeness. Aren't you one of those that's always ta
  9. 'I AM'. By your logic, Neil Diamond is God because he hasn't been struck dead. Hey, what an idea! "The Gospel of Neil" "Neil Saves" "The First Church of Neil"
  10. Zorn, I am confused by your posts. Your previous posts leads me to beleive you suscribe to the God of the bible, you quoted the bible as well. I also have been known to quote the Koran, Jim Morrison, and Truman Capote. Does that make me a homosexual Mulsim exhibitionist?
  11. Have not read that book. Book? If memory serves, you made references to being in the Special Forces which in my mind connected the "red feather" handle to Carlos Hathcock, the most successful military sniper ever. Hathcock was called Long Tr'ang which is Vietnamese for "White Feather" because to taunt the enemy he usually wore a white feather in his boonie hat.
  12. Personal foul, 15 yds, and loss of down. An attempt to verify input into a forum is appropriate. It may be appropriate but that doesn't mean the person doing the verification doesn't have too much time on his/her hands. As long as bible thumpers thump their bibles in my direction, I will point out the silliness of their system. BTW, I've been wondering if "red feather" is an homage to Long Tr'ang, Carlos Hathcock.
  13. Oh littlebillie, you seem to have nothing to do with your time if you spend it looking for what I've said. I can see that what I wrote might be misconstrued. Let me put it more clearly, I don't base my personal philosophy on the supposed teachings of a convicted and executed criminal.
  14. Ahhhh thanks....you really cleared that up for me! I don't know what sort of education you have but if I'd be shocked if is an Engineering or Physics degree. I don't have the time or energy to give you an education in thermodynamics.
  15. I have been curious as to how evolutionist explain the fact that evolution seems to go againist the Second Law of Thermodynamics Sorry, thermodynamics really doesn't have much to do with evolution. However, if you want to stretch it, engergy is constanstly being added to the system by the sun. The sun's energy is absorbed by plants, animals eat the plants and gain energy.
  16. I don't see how you can be an effective scout leader and totally ignore the religious aspects of it because it does not suit you. Such typical arrogance. Who says that I'm not religious? Just because I don't subscribe to your silly notions of religion, basing my philosophy on the teachings of an executed criminal. A man who, if he came today, would be reviled and ridiculed by you and yours for daring to claim that is the son of the Creator.
  17. ok, Zorn. You seemed to have missed my previous post. here it is again: I answered your original comments. You must be insecure to feel that you need to post them again.
  18. The 12th point of the law calls for you to respect their beliefs not ridicule them. In that case, they should respect my beliefs by not thumping their bibles in my direction. We Bible thumpers will tells them the story of Jesu And their response will be, "You humans are so gulible."
  19. oooh, ooh, ooh - and let's start an mandatory abortion program for everyone who matches any profiles of personality types known to produce such children so we can nip THAT bud before it's even grown!!!! It would be far simpler to sterilize the potential parents.
  20. I'm wondering what all you Bible thumpers are going to do when we finally make contact with an intelligent extraterrestial species that looks like an octopus or lobster. Did God create them in his own image as well? Wait, there can't be life anywhere else can there? The Earth is the center of the universe or so the church said for centuries.
  21. How would you reconcile the "undeniable scientific facts" against the word of your Lord and Savior? Unless I missed something, Jesus didn't say much about creation or the scientific method.
  22. Ahhh, quoting the Bible can be such a fun game. What about this counter: Ah, the wonders of the bible. It says whatever you want it to say.
  23. Good one Yaworski, makes me wonder how many here know what a ghillie suit is. :-) The title of the thread was Scouting skills, not "scouting attitude" which are really separate things. If you want to talk about attitude let's ask for Scouts that listen to those who may actually know more. Scouts that don't whine and work through adversity. Scouts that are willing to take on challenges because of what success will bring them. Scouts that say, "that's the easy way out. I'd rather do it the right way." If it is physical skills, I'd like to see walking made a priority. Wh
  24. God, the Creator, started the ball rolling and then let physics do the rest. What is the Creator doing now? Probably playing shuffleboard or making another universe in an alternate reality. You see, ScoutParent, your bible is filled with holes. Read the first couple chapters of Genesis and reconcile the inconsistencies.
  25. It also tells me that you do not value your own childhood. More psychobabble from the pseudo-psychologists. I enjoyed my childhood. It was great. I played in the woods, rode my bike, etc., etc., etc.. I think that all kids should have a childhood like mine. Well, maybe not the poison ivy. If God is so weak that he cannot change people, then what difference should he make to me or you? Why do I need him? Why should we even have any kind of religion or religeous principle? If he can't help change me, then what do I need him for? Sound like you use God for a crutch. I use m
