  1. First, our uniform: Since all the Venturing members are in both Boy Scouts and Venturing, and instead of buying the whole Venturing uniform, we're just going to keep the khaki shirt, and add green loops, and the replace the belt with the Venturing belt, and those who have earned the Red Beret can earn them, although we will add Black berets soon. Second, meetings: They will be at the same time as the Boy Scout meeting, and when it comes time to say the Scout oath and Law, the ones registered in just it or both will say it, and when it comes to the Veturing motto, ditto. members: d
  2. Sorry Our library is no good. I'm finding this out because I'm going to make a book, for the scouts, and then question them at the begining of the day and the end of the day to see which patrol read the history notes. The winning patrol get my totem to put on their flag until the next camp-out.
  3. Ok, hey i got a question on the Ranger Award: Can you use your First Aid merit badge for the Ranger required and the elective? And can you wear pins you got from another organization on your sholder?
  4. So then Boyce was not the sole creater of BSA? Who were all on our first National Council?
  5. Oh, So then Boyce created it, and Seton reinitialized it. Ok, so then, again is their a Chief Scout position anymore? And did Boyce ever proclaim himself any position? Any I'm still looking for sites telling of who took over each national position after one left.
  6. My camp-out is next weekend so this is what I think I should do if this does happen: If she starts holloring at me, I will ask someone to go get the Scoutmaster to deal with her or I'l go get him myself. If she stops me or the person I send, I will tell her about what she is doing and ask her to calm down and please leave. If she still continues, well then I'll take Davej775's approch, but using this as a last resort. And I also have to confinse her son not to come on the hike with me and fellow Eagle Scout canidate for (1), it is 14 mile, (2) I dont feel like watching anyone so
  7. But it says that Boyce started the BSA, and then it says that Seton started BSA? Which one actually started it, and what position did Boyce have after it's creation? And, is the a Chief Scout anymore, like Seton? And again, is there any place online that might tell of the successors of each?
  8. Is there a Chief Scout anymore, and wh actually started the BSA, William Boyce or Ernest Seton?
  9. Thanx, So then the Chief Scout of BSA position kinda swithched over to the President of BSA? I look at the BSA National Museums website. I like history!
  10. Who was our first President of BSA? Is there any sites that lists the past Chief Scout Executives and Presidents of BSA? Is there a Chief Scout of BSA?
  11. Ok, I kinda getting it all now. But since my committee and SM doesn't want to tell her, wat can I ask them to tell her? All of u are giving me some good advise. Oh yea, I'm in the Choctaw District of Ouachita Valley Council. My District Executive has changed, so I don't know who it is now. There website is http://www.ovcscouting.org
  12. There are no other troops! We are the only troop for miles around. Please, just listen to me. My Scoutmaster is a great man. He isn't forcing me to do anything, the reason he left the ASM in charge of that one PLC is because he wanted the ASM to get a feel of how it runs. This woman is convincing many parents nt to let there kids join because she thinks we are rude. She says this because no one wants to be friends with her son, and I cant blame them. We had a sign up night about 3 weeks ago, and we had enough kids that signed up to form three new patrols, you here me, 18 kids! Bu
  13. Your right, our troop is very very small, 12 scouts in all. But here's the things, only one person on the committee is trained, and thats are NAVY retired, ex-District Executive, trained and recepiant of the Silver Beaver, Scoutmaster. I went to JLT 2 weeks after the incident, and one of the courses was dealing with adults, and they said I did the right thing. I'm only 14, a Life Scout who is 3 merit badges from Eagle, Silver Stag, Bronze Award, Red Berea, World Conservation Award, Historic Trails Award, founding member of a new Venturing Crew, Recruiter of 3 scouts, but I st
  14. Ok, I want to know which one is better: Chief Scout Executive or President of BSA? And who was our first President of BSA? And is there any sites that lists the past Chief Scout Executives and Presidents of BSA? Also, is there a Chief Scout of BSA?
  15. First, I wasnt asked to make any rules for the committee, that was one of the suggestions from you guys on the fourm, and listen please, it WASNT my Scoutmasters fault, he was letting the ASM sit in so he could get a feel of how things ran in the troop. My mom is also on the committee as the troop secretary, and she was the one who went and notifed the SM of what was going on in the the PLC. The PLC had to be held inside the same building as everyone was sleeping in that night, and I had done told the other adults to listen incase she does start yelling because everyone knew the ASM wouldn't
  16. Rules and Regulations for Troop Committee Troop Committee shall be made of eight additional active members other than the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters Committee members must receive training and be registered with the BSA All committee members must wear an official BSA uniform Any nominations for replacement Committee members must be voted on prior to leave of current Committee member, and must have majority to become a inactive Committee member, then after being trained the inactive member can be voted on and then become an active Committee member and registe
  17. The reason it isn't going in my head is because everyone else is telling me and the PLC to make a draft of rules nad then get the Committee to vote on them. But here's the problem with that. She's on the Committee! I have a set of rules drafted up which myself and the PLC will revise and look for any changes. I post the rules in my next post, so be ready.
  18. Thank you all for your answers and opinions. But, the reason no one wants to say anything, is because she is too well known in the communtiy and her husband is the mayor of a local communtiy near our hometown troop. And if word get out that a Boy Scout troop got rid of her it would be in the papers and the papers get on the side of who ever is in office. There fore leading to our troops fall. We are small, 12 people only and we cant afford to lose any kids no matter how much we disagree with their beleives. Now here's another idea. If I with the PLC made up a list of rules and regulation
  19. EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!! The woman that we've been takin about is trying to come on our camp-out this month to Vicksburg! Is there any rules against a parent coming on a trip if she is not a chofer or driver. Please tell me immediatley, our whole troop awaits my answer to if she legally according the BSA regulations that if she can come or not!!! I beg of you!! Please help!! Or else this time the results wont be pretty at all, due to that every parent wants to get even her for ordering their sons around. But if she gets on to me I have a bullet proof plan. But the boys don
  20. Exacty NeilUp, she believed, and still beleives, that since her husband is ASM, which no one voted on, leting him be it just so that he would hush, that she can do wharever she wants, and whenever. I also have another problem, how to deal with her son. He beleives now that his position, Quartermaster, means that he has the right to yell at the other scouts and tell him what to do. And then he'll come back and hollar some more and tells me taht he will get his dad to get on to me for hollaring at him. And he NEVER listens! What to do... My thought is explain to him that when he is wi
  21. Again thank you all, I guess I now should explain the full story in details so this should be a long one.... Well, it a couple of weeks before our summercamp to Washingotn D.C., and they needed some drivers, and hust drivers, so they came up with three, the ASM, the CS(Committee Secretary), and the CT(Committee Treasurer). Well, the ASM's wife decided that this could be her "free vacation", and just so they didn't have to listen about her complain about not be let to go, they let her come. And if they had any arguments she said they needed a navigater. Long story up there sho
  22. Thank you all for your messages She was told after the sumer camp was over not to interfere anymore. Yes, in regret, I did get some enjoyment from this, but I never would have done this asking her to excuse herself if I wasn't given permission to by my my SM, but I don't blame him. The reason I enjoyed it was because she was a pain from Cub Socuting up, and no in the Troop likes her, but never had the guts to tell her. I'll be back on about 5:00 this afternoon to talk some more.
  23. I have this lady in my troop She has a son who is a smart mouth and her husband is an assistant scoutmaster who knows less than a second class about skills. Well, she came on our summer camp in her words "a free vacation" Well, she had been bosing everyone around, and keep in mind she has no leadership position, and when her son did something wrong or mean, and I got own to him, she would get in my face. I finally got tired of it I talked to my Scoutmaster, and he told me that when I had my PLC with the assistant scoutmaster and patrol leaders,if she butted in and contradi
  24. First of all... OutdoorThinker, I was NOT being negative to girls in a Venturing crew and in a Girl Scout troop at the same time. And second, I not being rude to the GSUSA, i was stating that I don't think that I dont agree or understand why both organizations could't work together... Also, why are yall arguing with me when I said I know I have no right to being saying that against GSUSA when I hardly know the orgaization. I admitted that I should've not, so why argue that with me any more. A scout is courteous, I admited it. A scout is kind, yall should have respected my
  25. So then basically a Girl Scout can join and be a Senior Girl Scout and earn the Gold Award, highest award in Girl Scouting.... Then I think really isn't fair....but I have no purpose in persuasion Ok so every bare with me..... Daisey=nothing Brownie=Cub Scout(maybe Tiger-Bear) Junior=Cub Scouts-Boy Scout(Webelos-Boy Scout) Cadette=Boy Sout Senior- Boy Scout-Venturing Now this is just around what age each level it is compared to Boy Scout Thanks
