Yes, I am trained, and Baloo too! We have two trained leaders and a new one just starting who will be going to training in a few weeks. Getting people trained has never been a problem. I don't have a lot of time and the more people around me who know what's to do can only help me. I have a good relationship with our Charter Org. I just don't want to "bug" him until I know what is going to happen. As for commitee, there is only the CC and his b rother who has been Treasurer and Popcorn Chair. I think the UC passed on the problem to the DE to be handled better, maybe, who knows? I

It's taken all this while to see the bank statement from the treasurer. He gave us a hand written profit-loss sheet also. Not too much that I could understand because the record keeping was sketchy, to say the least. I know that it's wrong, because he says the pack owes me money for a deposit I made. I was reimbursed at least 6 months ago. (sheesh!) There is no record. Someone has offered to take over as Treasurer, but the CC has said no. At our last leader meeting (when we got the bank statement), after the other leaders went home the CC put me through heck. Saying I was not doing
  3. Is it a joint decision between the CC and myself, the Cubmaster? (We still have unfinished biz with him) We were lucky enough to get a new scout whose Dad has offered. I'd like to get him started ASAP and am waiting for him to be approved by the charter org. After he is approved, who has the say?

I've made some phone calls to a few of the unhappy parents, but no one has called me back yet. This is a hard thing to do when you work so closely with someone. I remember last year when I told him some of the parents were unhappy about something, he said, the pack might have to fold then. This just told me that he thinks no one else can do his job. I will try to talk to him one more time. In his eyes, he thinks he's doing a good job. In a way he is. He's a stickler for following the program and rules. he like the kids to have fun, but one on one with the parents is very bad. It's just t

Thanks for all the replies. I almost mentioned a money part too, but because I am not 100 percent sure it's hard to say anything. Like I said, he's the CC and has been is scouting for years. He also serves other packs and troops. Scouting is his life. His brother is our treasurer. Our new to scouting wolf leader asked him to see a statement of our finances. The fellow said he didn't have one but would put something together. This was 6 months ago. Still nothing. It seems to me that we should all know about the finances, and it's not unreasonable to ask for it. How is that done? I'm thinking th

I'm with a newly revived pack of two years. The Commitee Chair has been holding things together until enough leaders, etc... can be found. He's been in scouting for a long time and I do respect him, but. We've had three families quit because of him. I was not aware of the reason they left until the other day when another parent confided in me. No specific reason was given, just "him." I've done recruiting, and people have signed up and even paid, but I never see them again. Now, I'm starting to wonder what it is about him people don't like. It won't do any good to have a talk with him. I've tr
  7. Is it OK to copy the post about needing donations for usscouting.org, and send it to a few friends? Jean
  8. A lot of our families have to struggle with just buying the shirts. We are not worrying about the pants. Although I could buy my grandson his, I'm not because I'd rather he be like the rest. Soon he will go from Weblos to Scouts and then he'll have the right pants. I agree the prices are way too high. It just can't be justified. The same goes with buying pants for private school. The school wants you to buy them from their retailer at a higher cost. We buy them from Penny's or Kmart when on sale at half the price. Who knows the difference? Seems to me the scouts scare away a lot of
  9. Maybe I should order one of the cotton shirts. They didn't have any at the scout shop, so I bought the blend. Still, it's a guy's shirt. I just wish it was cut a little nicer.
  10. I've only been involved in scouting around a year now. The reason was my grandson's troop needed help. If it wasn't for him....I wouldn't want to be caught dead wearing this awful shirt. I still can't bring my self to buy those pants. Doesn't anyone understand that women have to wear these clothes too? The womens shirt is not cut for a woman, and the fabric is cheap. I'm embarresed to wear it. Jean
