  1. Thanks for your replies! I too expected this to be in the spirit of exposing the boys to what boy scouts do and so it would be either to participate or attend a boy scout activity. Many troops in our area did invite Webelos 2 to campouts and other outdoor activities like hikes, etc. which many of our boys participated. As I read the requirement, I did not think Webelos oriented activities like Webelos overnighter or day camps would be in the spirit. Our district invites Webelos to attend the day portion of the Klondike derby and it hooked many of my boys. I asked because I hav
  2. Looking for clarification for AOL Requirement - Boy Scout oriented outdoor activity. When it says "boy scout oriented", I think of Klondike, Troop campouts, etc. I assume cub scout day camp and Webelos day camps or even Webelos overnighter may not count. When I read it in the spirit, it is those outdoor activities that expose the Webelo to what boy scouts do. Thoughts?
  3. Has anybody ordered crafts kits from Kids Crafts Online, http://kidcraftsonline.com/kitsupply-wood.htm ? We need to build birdhouses and I was wondering if the price is too good to be true?
  4. I'm in Naperville, IL - western suburb of Chicago. We just started our den in October and it's been such a whirlwind. We began with 3 tigers and now have 4. I'm having so much fun with it, I hope the boys are too. My biggest concern is balancing between too much and too little for the boys to do. We had a lot of catching up to do, trying to meet February/March time frame. But with the holidays and New Year, we're doing 2 den meetings, go see it, and pack meeting - which I think is typical of this level. I've already browsed through the forum and gotten so much information.
  5. I'm also a new Tiger Cub Den Leader. We are in the Naperville area. I was looking for things for my own kids to do over the holiday break and for the den if they were interested - the Federal Reserve has guided tours M-F. I specifically told them that I have tigers (1st grade) and some brownies (3rd grade) - they told me they have a specific program for this age group. The Oakley Guide also has some great pointers as well as the Chicago Parent magazine (the free one).
