I was researching locations for GREAT scout destinations for a Wood Badge ticket item. I discovered 'topnotch' already did something very similar for his part of the country: http://snipurl.com/midwest_scout_ha_locations
Anyway, I am starting my map at http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=105408153795014634795.0004853c65fabd93cb6b5&z=7
However, I need help from scout masters primarily located in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas. Effectively, I am looking to build a list of great locations/outings that are within 8 hours of Dallas. My categories so far include:
Biking
Caving/Spleunking
Canoeing/Kayaking
Climbing/Rapelling
Camping
Hiking/Backpacking
Anyway, what destinations do you recommend? What has proven popular with your scouts?

I was cleaning out my closet the other day and found my uniform from 20 years ago. Can someone tell me the estimated value of the following patch in near excellent condition?

So I've observed 3 different types of scout pants on scoutstuff.com:
1) The traditional Supplex Nylon switch-back pants for $19.98
2) The Centennial Canvas/Cottom SWITCH-BACK PANTS FOR $39.99
3) The Centennial Supplex Nylon switch-back pants for $49.99
Honestly, I can't tell the difference between #1 and #3- and material appears to be the only difference in #2. Can someone please explain the evolution of the pants and what are you getting for the price difference? Which do you recommend and why?
Thanks.
Anthony
p.s. - I want to avoid knock-offs and look alikes. There are a variety of events I will be attending in the future that will require full class-A (e.g. National Scout Conference & Woodbadge @ Philmont).
Wearing Custom/Private CSP on uniform
in Uniforms

Can anyone provide the BSA regulations that govern what patches may be worn on a scout uniform and where? I am certain they exist somewhere because I've never seen scouts sewing large biker patches on the back of their shirts (that's largely dry humor).
Seriously, I am looking to design a custom CSP (Council Shoulder Patch). I would be using BSA licensed patch printers (looking at stadriemblems.com) and adhering to BSA guidelines for patch design. I am unclear if I would be allowed to wear the custom designed CSP on my uniform if it were designed to BSA specifications listed at http://www.scouting.org/sitecore/content/Licensing/Protecting the Brand/~/media/Licensing/Docs/Guidelines for%20Custom%20Patches%20and%20Emblems_20090706.ashx
