  1. I'll be in Milton Keynes,UK for two weeks. I have about 1000 patches to trade. What else do I need.(I'll have my colmans mustard in tubes)

to cover any food questions.I'll be going ona campout with the district there,& possibly to Baden Powell house. I heard Gilwell is not really worth the time, but I'm open to any suggestions on places to see. Thanks

  2. My suggestion would be to talk to your District Commissioner, if your not happy with your Unit Commissioner.

Some Unit Commissioners dont really have a clue of what to do,but are more than willing to be there for you. Give a little guidance, a little patience, dont treat them like they are the enemy if you dont know them. Tell em what you need, good & bad. You'll have a friend for life.

    A District Commissioner

  3. Green sm,

I put in 2-4 hours a day working on commissioner stuff. I log 100-200 miles per week. I have 49 packs, crews & troops. I live in a rural area> I do it because I enjoy it. To help "green SM"s &

to help boys & adults all over my district. Some of you feel you dont need a U.C. or have never heard of one. CALL YOUR COUNCIL & request one. We're not here to show off, to fight,or to bicker about who is more important, but to help. Craig

  4. In Nebraska it is 3.69. I drive a 2003 F-250. But I have a 2 block commute to my 2000 Peterbilt. In Missouri,2 truck stops were out of fuel, with lines at the third. Stock up on everything you can, because the smaller, independent truckers cant afford this,& those who will survive will have to pass the surcharge on to you.

When I fill up,it's $500.00,& it's every two days. I'm also supposed to drive a troop bus from Lincoln to Abiline,Ks. When do we implement the cost to the kids?

  5. This guy is certainly not new to the program. He is currently our camping chair,S.M. U.C. etc. He has a Masters degree, but just doesnt seem like "Professional Scouter" material. What I mean is,He's not a kiss_ _ _. When he does something it is usually the right way, with a lot of heart. That's what worries me. I think he would make an excellent D.E. but can a council take someone with an I.Q, & not looking for another patch.

  6. It is up to the charter representative, the your Scout Executive.

I didnt put it on my application, was called by the executive,on it. I explained that it was 18 years ago, I was 17 at the time & a felony by 18 dollars. I explained this to the charter rep, & was approved.

  7. Seattlepioneer, first, you have offended me greatly!

The only perfect person I heard of was Jesus Christ. He was a hippie.? Are you going to judge him next?

I am 5'11" & 300 pounds of pure scout. I have 6 kids. All who I have raised not to judge a person on the outside, but what they give from the inside!!

I am a Tiger cub leader, ASM & Unit Commissioner. No,I'm not in front of the buffet. I also work 12-16 hours a day.

I am also an alcoholic(sober 4 years now) Are you going after that, next. When people judge me for my weight,& not of my character,

I just feel sorry for them.

I AM JUST AS GOOD AS YOU!! But I understand people & kids a bit better,I think, because my blood is just as red as yours.

  9. While I've never been accused of thinking on a Sunday,or Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday or Friday,

My favorite hat is my campaign hat. It's not the feel,or the looks, that I get in the hat,but the remembrance to an old memory or two.

Now my campaign hat doesnt really fit to well,(a size too big)

And not that I have ever gotten any more respect when I wear this hat,

And now that I think about the memories in that hat, Now I know why I try to not think on a Sunday,or a Monday, or a Tuesday,etc...

    Thanks Unc,for the memories

  10. The lawyer side of me says: You have a possibility of ten felons.

    Make restitution FAST.

If this camp has been burned in the past by other scouts, its your troop they might want to prosecute.(1-2 for the commission of the crime, the rest as accessories)While commendable that they don't want to snitch each other off, there might be a deeper rooted problem.

    (I.E. threats or bullies)

It is not a small problem you have there, but maybe you can change a troubled boys future,by how you react.

I've never heard of a troop going home early, someone usually gave up the culprit whern that threat was made.

  11. My end of the year blow out is(was) this.

One of the parents is an FAA pilot. He has access to a Bi wing, an old Russian prop fighter plane,& he owns a Cessna.

He and I have been working on him flying one of these to our local airport & taking the tiger cubs up in one of these planes. I already have his flight hours, & permits all in place.

Then we were going to cook out at the airport.
