  1. Great leader always want Victory. Be it life or death (FDR and Churchill wanting victory over Hitler.) Or something less (both Yankees and Marlins want victory in the world serries.) So my questions are: Is there such a thing as victory for a scout troop. What is it? And who decides when a troop reaches it?
  2. Among people who started as an assistant scoutmaster and later became scoutmaster what were some of the biggest surpises (both positive and negetive?)
  3. While looking at a replica of the 1910 Handbook for boys I noticed it didn't say any thing about Senior Patrol Leader. Does anyone know when and how the position came into being? Is there a boy who is credited with being the first SPL? And how have the duties and responsibitlies of a SPL changed over the years
  4. What is scout spirit? And does a BSA need a formal defination to proctect itself. Although I haven't heard of a Scoutmaster being sued over not signing off on scout spirit, with high school coaches being sued over not starting a kid it's bound to happen. In addition what about board of reviews, and other requirements that are left up to the troop or council to define. I am not a lawyer. But I do see the potential for a lawsuit if a boy doesn't make Eagle on his first board. And making Eagle would of been the one thing that would of gotten him into the college he wanted
