Before you get too jazzed up building the next Taj Mahal, take a look at the current guidelines for Gateways. There has to be a "fall zone" so that any toppling gateway clears any tents/pavilions. There are the usual restrictions against digging any post holes, and also about the kind of wind MPH it's supposed to withstand. Also it can't be shipped separately (we had a troop bring one in on a flatbed in '01) and cannot be discarded on site. I'm not sure where the document is but you should get familiar with it before making big (and I do mean BIG) plans.

Our Council solved this issue by including the price of two full uniforms in the fee. We order in bulk so get a discount. Some parents like this, some want a refund because they already bought a new uniform. Can't please everybody but at least our entire contingent will match.

As the SM for Jamboree Troop 143 I am looking for plans or ideas on best topics for the monthly Jamboree Troop meetings. I know we have to form a committee, talk about some fund raising, get on the same page with uniforms and gear, talk about Jamboree opportunities, and the Code of Conduct. What I'm hoping for is that some Council has already put together some "program helps" with proven ideas for getting a group of boys from different areas to begin to gel as a new group and for getting the youth leadership to rise to the top so we don't end up picking some "popular" goofball as SPL as happen
