Rex Tillerson's $12 million army of consultants
"The cost-cutting former Secretary of State had grand ambitions for a department ‘redesign,’ but its clearest impact is a huge bill for consultants, some of whom charged more than $300 an hour."

Fired FBI official authorized criminal probe of Sessions, sources say

It was the FBI's own internal affairs division, the "Office of Professional Responsibility" which investigated McCabe and recommended he be terminated, same as any other agent accused of the same crimes. A 27-year veteran agent was interviewed on TV and he stated that "Lack of candor" is the one thing that can result in a sure termination of employment and that is drilled into every agent from their first day at the FBI Academy. Whatever you do, don't lie...always tell the truth and take your lumps and you will probably keep your job. If you are found guilty of "lack of candor", then every case you've ever been involved in or testimony in court you made under oath, then comes into question and convictions can be overturned. The fact that he was days away from a pension is irrelevant. It was not Trump's fault...it was not Session's fault...it was FBI policy. BTW, these were the same charges that lost Flynn his job and landed Martha Stewart in prison.
Sessions' own lack of candor is why he had to recuse himself from the Russia probe:

That leaves Ryan Zinke (Interior), AG Jeff Sessions and Rick Perry (Energy, possibly moving to the VA). Zinke has had his own travel controversy, so he might be next. Sessions will probably be gone after the Mueller probe concludes. So far, Perry seems to have stayed relatively under the radar.
Speaking of Sessions, he just fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, two days before he qualified for his pension:

Rex Tillerson was fired before dawn this morning:

Strategic dialogues with many nations, including nuclear weapons powers like Pakistan, were ended without explanation."

I am sensing an Eagle Scout drain in the Trump Administration.
Sect. of Health and Human Services Tom Price (Eagle Scout) resigned and replaced by Alex Azar who I understand was not a scout.
Sect. of State Rex Tillerson (Eagle Scout) fired. Designated replacement Mike Pompeo, again as I understand was not a scout.
Next Eagle Scout to go?

Will our scouts become more cynical of government service with the firing of Mr. Tillerson? I hope Mr. Tillerson speaks to American youth this week about government service, particularly under adverse circumstances. Maybe he will come back to the BSA?
If Tillerson speaks to American youth, the youth should take him to task for not being courteous by not returning phone calls, etc.

Remember that the President is an officer of BSA for life (honorary vice-president after leaving office), so the BSA is publicly refuting one of its own.

Sanders said the conversations took place, just not in phone calls.
Neither Trump nor Sanders mentioned who allegedly talked with the President. The President rants about anonymous sources, yet uses them himself.
-
Let's quote sources that don't have an agenda against the guy. The NYT? Really? Why not CNN or MSNBC? C'mon guys at least try to find a credible news source, not ones that slipped Hillary the questions prior to the debates.
The source about the phone calls being nonexistent was White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. The Times reported what she said.

I think he was referring to the condition of the WH, not what it represents. None other than Harry Truman, a darn good Democrat, said "The White House is the finest prison in the world."
Trump: "I love the White House, one of the most beautiful buildings (homes) I have ever seen. But Fake News said I called it a dump - TOTALLY UNTRUE"

Boy Scouts Refute Trump’s Claim That They Told Him He Made ‘Greatest Speech’ Ever

Anthony Scaramucci and his wife, Deidre, are divorcing: "On Monday, while Anthony was in West Virginia with President Trump for the Boy Scouts Jamboree, Deidre gave birth to the couple’s baby boy James. As of Friday evening, a full four days after delivery, her 53-year-old husband had yet to meet his newborn son, though an associate close to Anthony said he visited the child late that night. He visited his Manhasset, L.I., homestead Saturday."

The hypocrisy of selecting which Honorary President can speak and which ones can't, isn't a historical fact, it's an infringement on free speech.
To drop the position of Honorary President of the BSA is fine with me, but then that has an affect on any future president and what they might say that one might agree with.
There is no ethical requirement to have an honorary president in the first place. Not having an honorary president does not stop US presidents from being invited to speak in the future.
There is no reason why the choice of honorary president must be limited to US presidents. BSA could change its policy so that it could choose anyone, based on achievement. It could be a current or past US president, a Nobel laureate, a governor, Medal of Valor recipient, etc. -- someone whose achievement and conduct reflect Scouting principles. It would be even more meaningful if it was someone who was in Scouting.

There will be thousands of times in life where people will say things I don't like or disagree with, but I will defend free speech every time. Dropping a sitting president from the historical tradition of Honorary President because of what he/she might say is tantamount to censorship.
Abraham Lincoln...
It is not censorship. BSA is not obligated to give anyone a platform on its donors' dime. There is no shortage of platforms on which the President can speak; the President's speech is not infringed in any way.
You chose some presidents and not others in your post. Shouldn't BSA have the same choice?

One way to avoid these problems in the future is to simply end the title of honorary president. BSA would no longer have a traditional obligation to invite all future presidents to speak; it could still invite them on a case-by-case basis -- especially if they were Scouts or Scouters themselves. Having presidents as honorary BSA presidents may have had some advantage in the early 20th century when the Scouting organizations began and when political discourse seemed to be very different. It should be pointed out that, as mentioned in the annual reports, living ex-presidents continue on as honorary vice-presidents of BSA.

State Department says Secretary Tillerson is 'taking a little time off' amid tensions in the White House

Talked a bit about Loyalty ...
I believe the loyalty comments were actually a jab at Jeff Sessions. Sessions was at the White House today but apparently was not invited to tag along to the Jamboree, as secretaries Perry, Price and Zinke were. Rudy Giuliani is reportedly under consideration to replace Sessions.

That brings up an interesting question, this being a Scouting forum and all. Do we know whether Barron is a Boy Scout? Or was a Cub Scout? I think that if he was in Scouting now, we'd probably know about it, but I don't know about his younger days.
Donald Trump Jr. may (or may not) have been a Scout in 1989, when he turned 12:
