  1. I saw psoting on a local supermarket bulletin bord for a film making contest which involves scouts

and other youth groups and will have open meeting in border town in may.(jonsatv@aol.com).

How would this work and could others tell their experiences because i nearly tried the same thing in 2003 when i lived in hotel as scout adult volunteer.but only get big meetings perhaps twice a year.troops seem to die off in record numbers in our council, and except for guy name in email,no one thinks outside the box.my son,out of state was lucky that way.his church includes scout as a youth prorgam with higher memberhsip rates than our local mn council.which is equlaly frustrating as we cover large geographic region with many districts.

i really like how scouts canada renames council and districts in like a reinventing government flashy prorgam which the council secretary can tell me about in five minutes.am i missing the secret location for the baking soda so my council,as the cake, will rise in the oven and becoem successful?

thanks, dave gustafson (msnnot21@yahoo.com,dgduluth@aol.com)the fellow named above and i both belong to the same local public access cable channel in WI.Bye

  2. can i find scouts whom might be eagle scouts whom have gone to democratic convention and also be involved in jota/jointly with girl socuts?i am interesting in starting a explorer post/venture crew to look at ongoing interest in braodcasting.which i tried to do fairly successfully with a cable tv station in small channel outside duluth, minnesota in 2003.scouting troops are dying off in record numbers here.i think our council is traditionally based in outdoors, police and fire activities and is a very large geographic council a well.i left my main concerns on site about starting small troop.i left my phone and email on that site.i will take all callers.my district executive also recruits for ja and they just lost one full time position at the district office.are royal rangers with pentacostal faith affiliated with scouts in troop/patrol methods?

  3. You post quite a bit.You must care about quality of time kids have a lot and seem well informed.I was worried about dungeons and dragons, whn a movie on tv came out where one kid became obscessed with it towards suicide or some other detrimental character behavior. But my cousin, whom works at local tv station, was recently in tv story about 30th anniversary of the game. And he turned out normal, and he plays it with his kids. And he wuthored some kind of video game book, some time ago.Does anyone know if the troops which are on indian tribal lands across the nation(U.S.A.)cooperate about youth solutions to violence, not quite on scale of the Columbine experience, but still distressing? A reservation other than Red Lake(in news about 8 murders)has seen beatings and other violence.Sicne you post on a variety of topics, are you privy to siutation about scouts coming from minority backgrounds across the country,as well as native american kids? I was told that scouts in other nations are autonomous, much like different countries have defendable borders, and whatever other measures make a country a country(or a nation)in eyes of other nation.Would experience of giing for Eagle using alternate book for person with a disability weighted differently in practice for kids whom have a minority background. There shouldn't be,but maybe there is when groups like Boys and Girls clubs are understaffed, with part-time workers and no male role models around? That is one aspect fo tv report which was highlighted. And does Bureau of Indian Affairs encourage groups like scouts for youth? Maybe the goth kids would know of some indian(native kids) from an online game, say?

  4. We have seen some dead zones as far as recruiting goes in our Council,as well as some Explorer Posts and V.crews dying off.My question is,my friend whom runs a cable tv access channel has been asked to speak at a boy scout troop locally, but he has no time.I am member of both bsa and the cable channel.Have you or other posters(users) on scouter heard of procedures where more troops could get together to show kids video equipment all in one place for a combined learning experience? Like have mini jamboree(or other title per most current training)to have more kids work on maybe Photography and Art merit badges? i got back into scouting as adult volunteer in 2000 as my out of state son was going for Eagle. He recieved his Eagle rank in 2004.Are there ways to stop downward slide of less memberships, while garnering leadership and encouraging more sponsors, such as in Friends of Scouting? I have found many helful messages on socuter just about fund raising. Many coin collecting counselors in my MN area council alone. But I call a few at random, and get no answer.I suggest a couple of fund raising methods off scouter, and it's like no one hears what I have said, about new solutions.I got a idea for mini jamboree from one posting where a troop(or more)made a replica of a radio transmission tower in a mall that scouts could climb. It seems new troops are hard to get going. And some churches in area where my friend has cable channel have no socut troops.
