In our troop meetings some of the games we play are:

White Knight, Black Knight. We use the different colored tiles of the church basement and all scouts are White Knights except one who is the Black Knight. The scouts can only move like a Knight in a chess game. When Black Knight is called, only the Black Knight's can move. When White Knight is called, only the White Knights can move. The object of the game is for the Black Knights to capture the White Knights. When a Black Knight captures a White Knight, the White Knight then becomes a Black Knight. The game goes on until there is only one White Knight left. That scout is the winner.

Another game is called Rat Tails. Each scout places a colored piece of rope in their back pocket. Divide the troop in half. One half gets one color, the other half gets another color (ie: red and black, or blue and gold.) The object is to pull the rope out of your opponets pocket using only your feet. The scouts can't kick each other. The winning side is the last rat standing.

Look in Troop Program Features, Volume III, in the back. If you use the Troop Meeting Plans from Troop Program Features, the recommended games for pre-meeting and interpatrol activity periods are all described in the back, with materials if any are required.

In Rat Tails the rope goes from the back pocket to the floor and about 3inches drags on the floor. The scout steps on the draging rope and the rat runs away from their attacker, thus the rope is pulled out. You can use cardboard squares of different colors to play Black Knight White Knight.
