Owl62 13
What about LDS female youth who are of Venturing age? It is my understanding that the LDS church does not support Girl Scouts or Venturing for its female youth members and that they have a LDS program for female youth. Are LDS female youth who are of Venturing age permitted to join Venturing Crews chartered by other organizations? Would they encounter any difficulties if they did so? GernBlansten 10
I can't imagine traditional Venturing being in conflict with the goals of the LDS church, unless the LDS do not wish their female members to join a coed program which is not exclusively LDS or customized to their faith. OldGreyEagle 5
Remember Crews can be all male, all female or Coed, they dont have to be coed, then again maybe thats not what you meant
John-in-KC 311
All, Eagle son's boss at Scout Camp is a Mormon and a District Commissioner in our Council. I will ask her. Give me a few days. Yes, there are LDS adults who participate in traditional Scouting. There are also LDS Scouters who've seen the value of traditional Scouting and work very hard to bring the whole package their youth.
