Troop Records - How long to keep?

Are there any guidelines on how long records should be kept? Specifically, Advancement Reports and Merit Badge cards.

I would say at least until a Scout turns 21. That way if they leave to join a post or crew their records will still be available.

The sinplist way is to scan everything from a year and burn onto a cd. The records will still be available, easily organized and won't take up much space.
