I am looking at a picture from a book about the history of Philmont. It is a framed sunset with the Aspen trees in the foreground which are darkened by the exposure of the sun in the distance. It is a beautiful shot that was planned by the photographer to try and capture the essence of the beauty of the place and to try and describe the feelings attached to it.

I am not sure that pictures were actually designed to accomplish that feat. If they were, so few can achieve it.
