Patrol Patch Question

Perhaps I should ask this on ther uniform forum but are you allowed to wear your patrol patch on your uniform???

Adults are advisers, not a youth member or in a Patrol. Exceptions during Woodbadge but the "Patrol patches" are just pinned or buttoned on during the course.

Thanks dg98adams for your reply. I assumed that this has probably been beat to death. I noticed some Scouters wearing them and some didn't so I wasn't sure. Regards, Randy

dg98adams has the right answer.

 

Some adults continue to wear their WB patrol medallions sewn to their uniforms. As noted, this is incorrect. There are better ways to do this (one guy I knows glued his on the back of his WB leather name tag).

 

Some adults wear other, goofy patrol medallions, such as the 'old rocker' patrol or 'old goat' patrol patches. These, too, are incorrect.

Thanks emb021 for your response. I think some folks wear them because they are proud of their patrol. I did brand my leather name tag with both my patrol and course number. I don't know if other Scouters do this but it is popular in my area (N.IL). Regards, Randy
