AdvanceOn 10
Howdy: Anyone out there know of any good website(s) to visit regarding preparing for cub scout day camp? Our theme this year is Wild Wild West (or Go West depending on which handout I look at!). If you have any ideas for interesting crafts or games I'd love to hear them. We're thinking that one activity might be a Watergun shoot out on the last day. We're a little concerned about how this might be perceived. What do you think? This camp ALWAYS has one day of water games of some sort so we'd really like to tie into the theme. We don't have access to a pool, creek, stream, pond, etc. Thanks, Melodee
Dedicated Dad 10
We're a little concerned about how this might be perceived. What do you think? I love it! I would do a capture the flag theme. Make everyone wear a white T-shirt thats ok not to return home stained. Fill each water gun with water that has a food dye and play a regular game of capture the flag. Change food dye colors for each new game and limit the water capacity and or number or guns allowed at one time. Make a refill zone and make it a safe are with separate entrances/exits for each team. Or if thats not PC enough, make a target course.
Quixote 10
I think that the Central New Jersey Council did a Wild West themed one a couple of years ago - don't know who to contact regarding it, but they have a website for the Council.
Southern Belle 10
Several times at our day camp we had a wet sponge throw instead of a water ballon toss. We bought a lot of cheap sponges and had buckets of water all over the place. The boys had a blast and we did not have to worry about cleaning up broken balloons. Everyone ended up getting wet.
