  1. I was looking for a popular song from 1930, but approached the problem from the other direction. I had been trying to teach my Tiger Den some of the traditional Cub Scout songs. One of the songs I taught them was the "Grand Old Duke of York" . They enjoyed learning the song and motions and the Den led the song at the following Pack meeting. It turns out that this classic scout song was associated with early sound versions of "Felix the Cat" theatrical cartoons from the late 1920's and early 1930s. It would have been familiar to children in the 30's.
