  1. I was Chief Physician for our Subcamp in '05, and a 2nd ASM at World Jambo in '07. My pieces of advice on the special needs scout and Jambo are to 1) plan well in advance, and 2) have a heart to heart with the boys in the troop. Remember, these are provisional troops, with boys that do not necessarily know each other well. It is essential that the boys recognize that they are all responsible for each other, and that includes group responsibility for a young man with special needs who should not be made to feel isolated for being different.
