  1. We were at Woodruff two weekends ago for Cub Family Camp. Water levels were fine. Very nice place.
  2. Our pack awards service stars at the last pack meeting as part of cross over to the next rank. Webelos crossing over to scouts in March receive a service star for their years with the pack. Adult Leaders also receive service stars. We try to reuse stars from previous years, but its no always easy to get them back. I remember as a Cub Scout receiving an Attendance pin and bars.
  3. Our Council offers training in Cub Scout Shooting Sports to certify range safety officers in archery and BB gun shooting. The all day course is held on a Saturday at a Council Scout Reservation. Since this is 70 miles away, our district still has a shortage of trained ranger officers. Were trying to get Council approval to hold a training locally.
  4. Here is an Atlanta suburb, we have not seen the economy effect membership. Our pack increased dues from $45 to $55 (with a multi-scout discount) this year. Dues had been the same for many years. Although the District popcorn sales were up, our Pack sales were down nearly $3000. The pack will ask scouts to pay a portion of some activities which it has covered in the past. A stocking stuffing campaign for kids of needy families in the community had terrific participation. Our Pass the Hat and Scouting for Food drives also have good results. We will see how things are in a couple of mon
  5. Our Pack purchases all awards for the cub scouts. If a belt loop or pin is earned a second time, the parents are asked to provide this. Boys that cross over to the next rank are provided a handbook, neckerchief, slide and belt buckle for their new rank. We recently raised Pack dues from 45 to $55. We usually do very well in popcorn sales, approx $16,000 per year.
