We have come up with an idea to use the Pinewood Derby as a public relations event as well as a fundraising event and I need others opinions regarding legitimacy. The idea is to send a mailing out to local businesses and offering them sponsorships of derby cars. What this would entail is that the cars can be purchased for $25. For this the sponsor would receive a car that they can build, decorate and participate in an "Open" division race during the derby.
We think that this could be mutually beneficial to us and the business. We raise some extra money for the pack and the sponsor wou
