Does the scout stautue in Japan exist?

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum. If this has been addressed I apologize,I could not find it when I searched your past threads. My assistant scoutmaster showed me a letter he got at a roundtable years ago telling the story of the American and Japanese scouts and how the people of Kyoto erected a statue to honor them. After much searching I have still not found any mention of it on Kyoto's website, or any images of it or directions to it on the web. My sons class is studying Japan and I wanted to have him take the letter to his teacher to see if she wanted to relay the story to the class. As part of background info. I wanted to give her links where she could confirm the story and see a picture of the statue. So, does this thing exist? and has anybody got a picture of it?
