  1. No you don't have to be a certifed trainer to do training they way i understand it. I is a recognition to show that you have been doing training for some time and gone out to get training your self like TDC and Philmount. to impove one self. So no You wouldn't have to have it to be a staff trainer. It would be like wearing the Training Strip. Which brings up another question should there be time limts on trainers? To get new people and new ideas in to the flow of things.

  2. Yes I feel the same about that. we are in to the power point. I can't say i have seen a felt board, o wait it was at a TDC. A comment was made about some of the trainers were slow about using PP. If you do come up with the syllabus. will let us know about it. Yes I do understand that there some scouter do use the felt BD. there could be some remove and some added.

  3. Our council just finsh it's NYLT we ran three troops for the week. It was good, no real problems. All ways some adjustments to make. Some of the youth scouts are very sharp out their. We plan to. The Youth Staff realy got the boys going with song and the Scouting Sprit. has any one else done there NYLT yet. and did you have good luck or problems.

  4. I thought Would put this out there. our council thinking of this program.

     

    To be a Certifed trainerin the Council the following criteris must be met.

    1 Must be a member of a District training team and approved by the district training chairman.

    2 Must atted a Trainer Development Connference ever three years.

    3 Must participate in at least four training programs during any geven calendar year. wB NYLT U scouting and so on.

     

    This is more of a recognition awarded annually.

  5. Dear scouter

    I trying to in my council to put together a lashing project program. Troops can go the the council camp. and pull off the shelf a lashing Kit. All they have to do is come to camp and build a project. When done put it back on the shelf. For the next troop. The poles and the ropes are put together in the form of kits. This would help you and other troops do these because of the same problem you are faceing now
