  1. Thanks for all the posts. I am not averse to getting training, I was just wondering what was meant by Certified BSA Firearms instructor. It appears that I will need to pursue the NRA training classes so I can host Troops at my club. I will never be hosting at a Scout Camp. One thing I have often wondered though, how many of these Council Summer Camps have an NRA RSO and NRA Instructor or someone who has gone through the BSA certification process? I have seen a couple of camps that have one Counselor running the venue that I wonder what their training is. I am not suggesting that they
  2. Our Troop has enjoyed a shooting campout for a couple of years. The couple who are NRA certified instructors have more or less moved on. We would like to continue this tradition but have not yet taken NRA courses. In the G2SS the items in bold are rules. On the firearm page it clearly states that, in bold, "except those specifically planned for target shooting under the supervision of a currently certified BSA or National Rifle Association firearms instructor." I know what an NRA instructor is but what is a Certified BSA instructor and how do I go about getting that designation?
