    Welcome to the Scouter Ads framework. This detailed guide will help to understand the page(s) specifications, flexibility, limitations, DOs and DONTs, pricing, and the type of content required to place your Ads on Scouter forum pages.

    1 - Pages Specifications:

    1.1 - The pages to display Ads are of 4 different orientation w.r.t area space:

    • Index page (i.e. forum homepage)
    • Forum page (i.e. forums displaying the topics/threads list)
    • Topic page (i.e. a topic/thread having posts/discussions)
    • Activity Feed page (i.e. the activity feed page showing all recent feeds/activity happening on the forum)

    1.1 (a) - Index Page:

    The framework of Index Page is as follows; with the Ads legend underneath:

    Legend:

    • Header → Ad(s) display in the header area.
    • Sidebar → Ad(s) display in the sidebar area. The locations are interchangeable with Filmstrip Ads.
    • Filmstrip → Ad(s) display in the sidebar area. The locations are interchangeable with Sidebar Ads.
    • Footer → Ad(s) display in the footer area.

    Note:

    • The Ads can be displayed as a single unit or can be configured as rotational (i.e. carousel or cascade).
    • There exist NO sidebar for the Index Page in Tablet/Mobile device view.

    1.1 (b) - Forum Page:

    There are 34 forums (including sub-forums) on Scouter.com. All these sections (forums) have a similar page framework; therefore, placing the Ads on any of these pages, will be displayed simultaneously on all 34 forum pages. The framework of a Forum Page is as follows; with the Ads legend underneath:

    Legend:

    • Header → Ad(s) display in the header area.
    • Sidebar → Ad(s) display in the sidebar area. The locations are interchangeable with Placeholder areas and can be used as Filmstrip Ads.
    • Placeholder → Ad(s) display in the sidebar area. The locations can be replaced with forum's default widgets and are interchangeable with Sidebar Ads.
    • Footer → Ad(s) display in the footer area.

    Note:

    • The Ads can be displayed as a single unit or can be configured as rotational (i.e. carousel or cascade).
    • There exist NO sidebar for the Forum Page in Tablet/Mobile device view.

    1.1 (c) - Topic/Thread Page:

    There are 29,420+ topics/threads on Scouter.com. All the topics/threads page have a similar page framework; therefore, placing the Ads on any of the topic/thread pages will be displayed simultaneously on entire 29,420 topics/threads pages. The framework of a Topic/Thread Page is as follows; with the Ads legend underneath:

    Legend:

    • Header → Ad(s) display in the header area.
    • Footer → Ad(s) display in the footer area.

    Note:

    • The Ads can be displayed as a single unit or can be configured as rotational (i.e. carousel or cascade).
    • There exist NO sidebar for the Topic/Thread Page in Tablet/Mobile device view.

    1.1 (d) - Activity Feed Page:

    The activity Feed page is the most important and frequently visited section of the forum which displays all the recent feeds/activity happening on the forum in real-time. The framework of the Activity Feed Page is as follows; with the Ads legend underneath:

    Legend:

    • Header → Ad(s) display in the header area.
    • Sidebar → Ad(s) display in the sidebar area. The locations are interchangeable with Placeholder areas and can be used as Filmstrip Ads.
    • Placeholder → Ad(s) display in the sidebar area. The locations can be replaced with forum's default widgets and are interchangeable with Sidebar Ads.
    • Footer → Ad(s) display in the footer area.

    Note:

    • The Ads can be displayed as a single unit or can be configured as rotational (i.e. carousel or cascade).
    • There exist NO sidebar for the Activity Feed Page in Tablet/Mobile device view.

    2 - Ads Flexibility & Limitations:

    Specified areas throughout the forum, as described above, are available for placing the Ads. The Ads are served solely through the forum’s own framework and are managed through backend via automated setup. The Ads placement and management is controlled by Scouter.com team and is NOT user controlled. The Ads are interchangeable or can also be swapped in pages. The Ads can be served ad a single unit or rotational (as a slider).

    3 - DO's and DONT's:

    3.1 - You are allowed to:

    • Display the content in form of static (png/jpg/jpeg) or animated (gif) images; as per T&C at para 6 (below).
    • Display one or more than one image in an Ad widget (displayed as a sider). For pricing, see para 5 (below).
    • Hyperlink your Ads to external page(s) or affiliates; as far as it conforms to T&C at para 6 (below).

    3.2 - You are NOT allowed to:

    • Display the content that violates the T&C at para 6 (below).
    • Display the Ads other than image (i.e. png/jpg/jpeg/gif) format.
    • Display any streaming media content.
    • Directly access the Ad block via backend for creation/editing. (Backend will be managed by Scouter.com designers)
    • Include custom or third-party sliders in pages for displaying Ads. The slider if any (executed via Javascript/PHP script), is hosted solely on Scouter.com server and managed by Scouter.com designers.
    • Insert/embed/wrap any PHP, Javascript, Flash -or- other action/executable/raw code on the image meta-data, as the images will be screened through appropriate apps and software prior hosting on Scouter.com server.
    • Display any Google Adsense or other coded Ads etc.
    • Hyperlink to any external page or affiliate that violates the T&C at para 6 (below).
    • Acquire off-page visitor's credentials (such as Name, Email, Phone Number etc) through survey Ads for leads, registrations -or- data gathering.

    4 - Image Dimension:

    The image dimension (width x height) of Ad units is as follows:

    4.1 (a) – Main Index Page:

    • Header → 995 x 138
    • Sidebar → 295 x 138
    • Filmstrip → 295 x 600
    • Footer → 995 x 138

    4.1 (b) – Forum Page:

    • Header → 995 x 138
    • Sidebar → 295 x 138
    • Footer → 995 x 138

    4.1 (c) – Topic/Thread Page:

    • Header → 995 x 138
    • Footer → 995 x 138

    4.1 (d) – Activity Feed Page:

    • Header → 995 x 138
    • Sidebar → 295 x 138
    • Filmstrip → 295 x 600
    • Footer → 995 x 138

    4.2 – Ads Design / Custom Work:

    6 - Terms & Conditions:

    • The Ads will be strictly governed by DO's & DONT's listed at para 3 (above).
    • The on-page content must NOT be illegal, pornographic, explicit in nature, and/or violate basic human ethics.
    • The on-page content MUST be your own -or- as of Royalty Free/General Use, and must NOT violate copyrights for any third-party.
    • The external hyperlink(s) content MUST conform to the T&C.
    • The on-page content (i.e. images) MUST be ready during submission.
    • Scouter.com administration reserve the rights to disable/remove your Ad unit if such is in violation of the T&Cs.
