National website down?

Trying to get on National's website and have been unsuccessful. Anyone else able to get on?

 

Trying to finish up the recharter and check YP training. Heck of a time to take a vacation. LOL

It was not responding this morning when I opened my browser (It is set as one of the tabs on my home page). I have had intermittent problems with errors and access for the last two weeks. It usually responds at some point.

Received this message on Facebook from our council:

 

"Scouting.org and all national BSA applications are currently out of service. National is working to fix the problem. We appreciate your patience while the issues are resolved."

AFAIK, this should not affect you, as your recharter thru your council.

 

 

I find it funny that National is now on a bing to take over the regional venturing sites when they can't keep their own site up.

Had an issue with the national site last week. Kept getting "Object moved here"...

 

I was trying to log into the Unit Commissioner tool for Unit Visits.

 

I emailed the help desk and got the following answer:

 

"You need to keep your PC and Explorer up to date, then try to reboot."

 

I emailed back, while I myself have chanted the "Microsoft mantra" to others, and fully appreciate the advise, I was not on a PC (Linux Workstation), and I was using Firefox as the browser.

 

To that reply I got, "the national site only supports IE 7 at the moment (and excludes Mac and other Os/browsers), and we are updating and going thru some Java updates."

 

That I did find reasonable - Translation - "Yeah we know it's a problem, and we are working on it."

UVTS was working over the weekend, and I was using a Webkit based browser. (And I had reported the "Object moved" issue as well -- of course, at that point, it was even doing that on IE7/8/9).

emb021, My council's instructions tell us to go through MyScouting to recharter so I'm pretty sure this affects others as well. Pretty much sucks to be us. LOL

OK this morning have an adult who cannot do YP training because of a ERROR CODE 4 message. I have sent an email to National. Such bad timing for their system to take the time off. LOL
