canoe rentals

anyone know where our troop can rent canoes and trailers up by St. Ignace, Mi in May? We are planning a campout just east of there and will need to haul the canoes to where we will be going.

Wouldn't it be easier to rent the canoes from an outfit that deals with the river you will be canoeing?

 

That way you don't need trailers. They put you in and take you out.

okay, that could be possible. do you know of anyone that will give scouts a deal?

Not familiar with area, but we have had good luck with renting canoes from a scout camp. The one we used had trailers and rented a rack of canoes for it. Check with camps/councils in the area.

I have not ran any of the rivers up by St Ignace. I have mostly done WI, and IL.

 

I did a Google search for "canoe rental St Ignace" and came up with a good number. If you put in the river name you should find someone for that specific river. Call around and ask questions of a number of places.

 

Another idea is to call the campground you will be using and ask them. They will be the most familiar with the outfits in the area.
