I wasn't involved in the Margaret thing but I did read the thread...and I just went back and read it again. And I agree with Gold Winger. Her question was asked and answered. I'm not sure who said anything that was abusive or impolite...

Maybe it's a chick thing :)

ee cummings was such a fine poet

unfortunately few people know it

he put lower cases

in all the wrong places

and who knows if the moon's

a balloon,coming out of a keen city

in the sky--filled with pretty people?

I must say "I'm sorry" to Ed,

For I came in and hijacked his thread.

But a poetic bent,

Rather than arguments.

STILL caused a fight over what others said.

I'm amazed that anger is swelling.

On strange issues some posters are dwelling.

We just saw a fight,

'Tween Winger and White,

Over proper nautical spelling.

And although I feel scouting's the best,

Some scouters here can't take a jest.

I found the decorum,

Of some on this forum,

Actually made me enjoy scouting less.

So I slip on and off of this board,

Certain posters, I try to ignore.

Things stopped getting worse,

When I went into verse,

And my enjoyment has suddenly soared.

But I sadly must bid you adieu,

Once again, for the time, I am through,

But when someone gets to your goat,

Just delete what you wrote,

And write a limerick, it's good for you!

Vickie, please don't take offense.

I don't know Rick personally, but I've read enough about and by him that I dare say he meant that remark facetiously, or perhaps even as a slight dig at those who might've been suggesting that it was Margaret's problem, not ours.

In any event, tone doesn't come across very well on the Internet.

Oh I think Kudu's remark was more a kind of very wry humor that I appreciate so much. Besides, it could be worse. Why...my wife often confides to her friends that only occasionally is she willing to admit to strangers that we're married.;)

fun is found in funny finagles,

offense? none found.

hopefully, none given.

obviously obfuscatory humor (sigh again-not the first time my humor too dry)

thick skin grown over a number of years

of corporate warfare.

Benefit of the doubt critical.

"Simple sigh, stuck in stolid, silly, sexism... "

Funny, isn't it how wimmen folk can cry sexism

when a man makes a comment about things that wimmen do

or uses a picture of a pretty girl to sell cars.

But when the wimmen folk say "that's just what men do"

or oggle the studly guy from the cover of the romance novels.

That's okay.

No it isn't. Hope that's short, sweet, and declarative enough for you.
