Carrying the Flame - no such thing as a former Boy Scout

You may recall a recent post by our resident honorary Chief Scout @InquisitiveScouter  :)

Yesterday, I found this commentary  https://seandietrich.com/scouts-honor/

Read the rest at at source: https://seandietrich.com/scouts-honor/

Mr. Dietrich concludes his commentary:

Personally, I will never forget standing in a Methodist church, wearing a khaki uniform, showing three-finger salute, reciting an oath before my flag and my friends:

“On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country, and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

I don’t care what you’ve heard, there is no such thing as a former Boy Scout.

Too lazy to find the link to one of my earlier posts, so I’ll retype:

An Italian exchange student in my crew was trying to get up to speed with translating her scouting experience into ours. Among the terms that perplexed her: “scouter.” Because, she said, “You know, once a scout, always a scout.”
