Aging Whiskey at Sea Challenge benefits Sea Scouts (2016)

Recommended Posts

Sort of STEM  and story is a bit old but an entirely different fundraiser. Fremont Mischief whiskey distiller recruited four captains to age its whiskey at sea, then marketed the four differently aged whiskeys as a challenge fundraiser.

In 2016, Captain Sig Hansen, Mandy, Nick & Crew supporting Sea Scouts: $5,305 came in second. Barrel-aged in the bow, under the forward wheelhouse of the F/V Northwestern, this whiskey was thrashed by the turbulent icy waves of the Bering Sea...Taster notes: Hints of the briny sea, sweet smoke, and a warm toasty finish.

Captain Sig Hansen has been featured on Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch. @mashmaster
