I’m looking for a usable Baker tent to use for Scouting events and TPWD youth events. Contact me by PM.

Thank you TAHAWK. I’ve perused those links before and they’re very pricey for Volunteer work. I’m hopin’ someone has one in the garage, shed, attic or barn that would part with it. Shipping remunerated of course.

eBay?  It would be expensive to ship.

Note on Scout Service Center bulletin board?

Email fellow volunteers?

I have seen perhaps two Bakers in the last thirty years - both at a show-n-do.

What does it take to sew canvas or typical tent fabric? Canvas seems way to thick for a standard sewing machine. Can it be done by hand?

I think it would be a great scout project. Make a patrol tent composed of a single pole and  segments, one for each patrol member, that zips, ties or snaps together. </wistful thinking about camping>

Ask five lawyers a question and you get seven different opinions ;)

Recommend you contact your local canvas shop (or canvas repair shop).  They can give you some good advice.  Send them that diagram and ask for a quote to make the tent.  We'd all be curious as to how much they'd ask...

If done by hand (depending on thickness)...  recommend a thimble
