rickmay 0
I was looking around on the internet and was surprised to see that the "red wool jac-shirt" is still an attainable item through bsa/ebay. that thing's been around since I was a scout in 1991 and probably way before. what is the story behind that shirt? it seems it's got a "Mountie-feel" going on, but there's bound to be some history. qwazse 4171
No clue. But in the '80's I had a standard-issue poly-cotton red jacket with the same emblem on the left side. Meanwhile, I started seeing guys coming from Philmont with a similar jacket and the Philmont bull on the back.
malraux 363
http://www.scoutinsignia.com/jacshirt.htm has a pretty lengthy history of the jacshirt. I cannot vouch for the accuracy.
