Cub Girl Uniform

Recommended Posts

How was this on anyone's priority list of "important things to do in order to roll out a girls' program"?

This also kind of hurts the argument I and others have made that girls want the same program, unchanged, and then the first thing we get is a changed uniform for girls.

This could be the same argument for when Woman joined as leaders.  Why did they have Den Mother dresses, and Yellow Den Leader shirts, and now women fit shirts, pants and skits for adult leadership?

As big as an organization BSA, I'm sure National Supply has their own department to focus on uniforming.

BSA use to sell skorts for female Scouters. They were not popular at all, and hated counting them when doing end of year inventories. So glad when they got rid of them.

Only lady I saw who wanted a skirt or dress was my wife. And that was only because she HATES the tan and green uniform, and didn't like the old Yellow and Blue one. When she saw the 1950s/60 Den Mother's dress, she fell in love.

Otherwise she wants her Venturing green and grey.

What about yellow and green?

That is a wicked Trucker hat (#2).  The Visored Cap.  Wants me one of those.  And only $5.50...what a deal

Well those are 1984-85 prices.  You are gonna need a Delorean. :)

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green?

The woman in the middle of that picture looks like a cardboard cutout.

Accessorize skort with a beret?

We have a current boy scout that wears a beret like this. It has sentimental value for him.

My mom is actually trying to find one of the old blue Cub barets; she's the Wolf Den Leader in my Pack and it's the only hat she actually likes (she won't wear the ball caps and thinks the lady's Garrison hat makes her look like a stewardess). But they never show up on eBay or Etsy ... Anybody know where to find one? She insists it be official, no knock-offs, which makes it tricky. She actually doesn't know I am on the look out for one; I am hoping to surprise her for Mother's Day.

I don't get the need for the skort at this time, other than as a prop for marketing photos. Which, by the way, they seem to be adding more of to the BSA Brand Center site.

Those red neckerchiefs look pretty darn sharp. Hoping they'll be rolled out to scout shops in time for the fall, so my Wolf den can wear them.

Okay, "squirrel!" moment ...

Anyone recognize the council patch the model is wearing? Looks like one from now defunct Greater Pittsburgh.

@qwazse It's difficult to tell with only a partial side view, but I think it might be the Cascade Pacific Council patch.

You sir are correct. Here is a link to the marketing group photos.

First thought upon seeing this last photo: "At least some of my boys will have more fellow scouts to compare earrings with!":o
