JosephMD 38 Posted November 1, 2017 Share Posted November 1, 2017 I got the e-mail this morning. My son applied for the BSA contingent for the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019. I of course approved. What I don't know is how applicants are selected. It doesn't seem to be a first come first serve thing like the NSJ. Link to post Share on other sites

Cleveland Rocks 75 Posted April 24, 2018 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Units for the World Jamboree are set up at the regional, not council, level. Applicants must first get approval from their council, and then it goes on to the regional level for approval. This process is the same for youth and adult applicants. At this point, since there are so many slots remaining to be filled, unless your application throws up a giant red flag, you're going to get approved, whether that's as a youth or adult (unit leader or IST). The BSA has set a deadline of July 31, 2018 for accepting applications for the US contingent. The US has been allocated 180 units, the most ever for a host country. Link to post Share on other sites
