"Conservation related" service hours

          Does volunteering for  community bike event  counts towards conservation service hours. Please advice.

What is the purpose of the community bike event?  Was it to raise money to support environmental efforts in the community?

These things are often a judgement call on the part of the leader approving the service.  Or, better yet, take it to the PLC.

As @InquisitiveScouter asked, it this an event to raid  raise money for environmental or conservation projects?  If so, I would count it.  If not, and it is just a community bike rodeo or trail ride I would not.

If the purpose of the event is

   1. show community members that bikes can be safe, economical, green alternative transportation (show pollution reduction)

      and/or

   2. bike trail maintenance (erosion control)

I could see approving conservation hours.
