Cool but where are Boy Scouts?

Five college dudes as in "Dude bet that knee hurt hitting concrete (3:30)".

Wonder if National is thinking of promoting the Summit for College Spring breaks and/or the Mudder crowd http://toughmudder.com/?

My $0.02

Never heard of tough muddier before. It actual sounds like a good fit with scouting. Anything beats chronic cardio.

I am so out of tune with pop culture. A couple of weeks ago we took the boys to Six Flags for Fright Fest and I asked my wife, "What is with all these kids here from Hollister ? I always thought that was a tiny little town, there must be 200 of them here". She just laughed and laughed (Hollister, MO is like a suburb of Branson). I haven't been to a mall in 15 years. :)

Several friends ran Pittsburgh's Tough Mudder. One lady at church came to me for some orienteering pointers because one part of the course had a compass component.

Adventure racing is attractive to a couple of my venturers. The time-commitment is the big issue.

That may be so for TM. Other races allow teens with parental consent. Our local orienteering club had one (a rogain) that my more senior scouts were welcome to try. Problem is, those typically have a participation limit, so you don't want to take up a spot that some proper enthusiast could fill. It should really be reserved for select scouts.

Well I should hope so since they have a beer at the end of the course. Seems a bit like X Games meets COPE.
