The way these guys handled both the problem and the aftermath provides a valuable lesson for us all. It's worth noting that they got on the news as soon as they got ashore and put their best foot forward using really good PR skills.

Good to see some positive news come out of the unit. The current Skipper is a young man who has been connected with the unit for some time.

I found it interesting that in the YP case the council woman seemed to feel that if BSA allowed open Homosexuals into the program this man wouldn't have abused male children. I'm not sure how that really makes any sense. If he was interested in other men he would have been able to persue that on his own time. I don't really think that has anything to do with molestation of boys.

 

Back on the current topic glad to hear everyone was safe, and hopefully they can sucessfully raise the amount of money needed to make their ship seaworthy again.

Great story Kahuna. It really looks like that crew was well trained and and is a real credit to the sea scouting program. I hope the council throws them some kind of fund raising banquet or activity to get their boat seaworthy again.
