Shortridge, I have also noticed that the 990's usually do not match up with what is posted on the annual report given at the annual council business meeting. Very interesting stuff can be found on the irs 990. There are some better sites out there besides guidestar that provide 990's going back about 10 years. Then you can really see some interesting numbers.

In the little bit of research I was amazed to see some troops will million dollar budgets....An explorer post 58 has a huge budget if I am reading all of the comma's a billion dollars??????

Post 58 sounds like a post a friend of mine was in. He grew up in a rural New England area where the local ambulance service was an Explorer post. They had equipment, ambulance, did training, and had certified EMTs as members as I think the age at the time was 16 for the cert at the time ( late 1970s.)
