With Lee Greenwoods "Proud to be an American" on the louspeakers and the pyrotechnics and the cheering scouts, it brought a tear to me eye. Later that year, on 9/11, tears again came to my eyes. Now I sit in my office, having just seen a statue of Saddam Hussein pulled down through a cooperate effort of US forces and Iraqis and again tears come to my eyes. Link to post Share on other sites
fboisseau 10 Posted April 9, 2003 Share Posted April 9, 2003 When I first read this post, I was not sure that this song was the one that my father use to sing as a member of a church folk group when I was a kid.
