Eventually, BSA will accept gay and lesbian members and leaders.

It just takes BSA longer to step into mainstream society.

In 1914, the BSA gave local councils the power to ban African Americans from Scouting. Until 1974, some southern councils of the Boy Scouts of America were still racially segregated.

Happy to see he will stay in and be a thorn in their side.

Unless they do something where he has to state it was HIS decision, it would be bad publicity, if they state the respect the differing views of members of their board, then can him over it..

This is exactly the kind of gradual roll-out you'd hope for in terms of getting people comfortable with the idea that the policy is going to change.

The national executive board members (I can't find the list right now) includes a variety of global CEOs. Virtually all large companies these days are committed to non-discrimination based on sexual orientation, so I expect that there are more people on the board who feel the way this member does.

Maybe the change is coming sooner that I'd expected.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if he is asked to step down.
