A Round of the Gilwell Song....

Recommended Posts

I used to be Bruce Tuckman and a corporate raider too.

Now I've destroyed "Real" Patrols I know just what to do.

I'll form and storm more outdoor skills just to follow through.

Back to Gilwell. Parking lot.

The Staffers call it Wood Badge but it's not.

Feeble is old-fashioned. We storm now.

I used to be an Eagle and a Good 'ol Eagle too.   And now I'm finished Eagling, I don't know what to do.   I'm growing old and feable and I can Eagle no more, So I am going to work my ticket

I wanted to be a staffer, a good old staffer too! I've even had some training so I’d know what to do. But politics so old and feeble, and I can staff no more. So I won’t wear my beads when I can.

I used to be a Beaver

And a mean old Beaver too.

I've eaten me an eagle, a fox and buffalo stew.

I'm getting rather hungry,

And I don't know what to do.

So I'm going to catch a staffer if I can.

Back to dinner, frying pan,

I'm going to eat a staffer if I can.

Cowl Porter…

Owl be seeing you

In owl the old familiar places

That these beads of mine embraces

Owl day through...

In an Eagle's snack,

A Beaver's tail that some may lack;

The Bobwhite flock;

The Kudu's horn;

The Weather Rock....

Owl be seeing you

In every lovely P L C;

With every thing the Staff might say.

Owl always think of you that way...

Owl find you

When the Foxes run

And when the night is new...

Owl be sitting at campfire,

But owl be seeing you......

Owl be seeing you

In every lovely Buffaloe;

In every little Bear's big toe,

Owl always think of Webelo,

Owl find you

With the Antelopes

And not with the Gnu...

Owl be looking at the moon,

But owl be seeing you............

((with apoligies to Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal , really))

Dear John-in-KY I think maybe we should hunt up a few Eagles and Foxes! Now that the Owls and Bears are ready. After all I'm no bird in the wilderness ... I'll go find them Eagles and Foxes. **smile** Beware the smiling bear! Mama Bear

Proud fox here.....but its not my turn yet, so I'll leave it at that :)
