How do remove a District Commissioner?

Does anyone know how or if a District Commissioner can be removed? Can it only be done by the DE?

 

Where can I find the Job Discription of the DC?

The District Commissioner serves at the request of the District Chairman and the approval of the Council Commissioner. They would be the ones who would remove him/her as well.

Where would I find a complete job discription for the DC? My DC is not doing their job properly, and I would like a reference to show. I hope that by doing this, things will get better.

There are commissioner manuals that are available through your scout shop or through the national scout division.

 

The official job desctription for a DC from The Commissioner Fieldbook for Unit Service (pub# 33621C) --

 

1. recruit a full staff of commissioners.

2. oversee the commissioner training program

3. work with the district chairman and DE as a member of the district's Key 3

4. plan and preside at monthly meetings of the district commissioner staff.

5. attend district committee meetings to report on condition of units and to secure specialized help for units.

6. represent the district as a member of the council commissioner cabinet.
