Ahhhhhh ... now I know why I like Cub Scout so much! They are the most innocent faces on this Earth! We had our first Tiger Den meeting last night. They laughed at everything that I said! (although, I'd like for them to laugh with me! ) Anyway, we went through the Bobcat requirements. We played old games. We cheered old cheers. We sang "The Second Story Window" with "Barney" is the start off song. We sang "God Bless My Underwear." They all left last night, each with a grin on his face (even the tiger partner). I do believe that I will see all 10 at their Eagle's COH!

 

Best off? My youngest said to me as we were driving home, "Dad, that was fun! Thanks, Dad."

Playing old games, cheering old cheers, singing songs. How delightfully dorky and yet so fun that they crave more. Have a great time watching your son and these boys grow over the next few years.

OK. I must be the only scouter on the planet that doesn't know what the second story window song is. Been a scouter for 14 years, Cubs and Boys, and I'm clueless. Somebody help me...

I'm sure brianbuf would be happy to tell you about that song. Apparently he sang it a lot at his recent wood badge experience.

 

But then again, he might just throw you out the window, window, the second story window.

I actually just learned this song a couple months ago at day camp when the Boy Scouts taught it to the Cubs. I later found the words (not exactly what we learned but close) at this site:

They all burst out laughing, rolling all over the floor! Yes, my scouts who were my cubs still sing these silly songs with me ... and they love it! Their all time favorite? "God Bless My Underwear!" The most requested song during our campfires!
