cajuncody 10
I am wanting to have a New Years Lock in for my pack. Is there a specific rule for this as it is not a camp out? I have heard several different things from different people in the district but no one has sited anything in writing. It would be held in our CO. Is there a certain number of adults to boys? Families only? Kristi
ScoutNut 147
It may not be camping, but it is an overnight. Pack overnighter G2SS rules should apply. Pack Overnighters These are pack-organized overnight events involving more than one family from a single pack, focused on age-appropriate Cub Scout activities and conducted at council-approved locations (councils use Site Approval Standards, No. 13-508). If nonmembers (siblings) participate, the event must be structured accordingly to accommodate them. BSA health and safety and youth protection guidelines apply. In most cases, each youth member will be under the supervision of a parent or guardian. In all cases, each youth participant is responsible to a specific adult.
ManassasEagle 10
In addition to what ScoutNut said, you also need to apply all the rules about seperation of males/females and youth/adults and all that stuff.
cajuncody 10
So I need one adult per child??? Please tell me I read that wrong! Kristi
frank10 12
Kristi, Yes, you read it wrong. Each scout must have one adult to answer to, an adult may have more than one youth.
ScoutNut 147
You will also need permission slips from EVERY child attending, even if their parent is with them. For those who will not have their parent attending they should have something in writing from the parent stating which adult will be responsible for their child. And, as ManassasEagle reminded, you must also provide SEPARATE sleeping areas for adults, youth, males & females. (This message has been edited by ScoutNut)
KurtB 10
per the G2SS... I wonder what it will take to have the CO facilities declared council approved ?
