Wente Scout Reservation, Willits California

Surprised not to see this one on the list....   Camp Raven Knob - Mt Airy, NC (1982-1986)     I sure do miss summer camp...

I second Raven Knob. Ours is a farely new Troop, 3 years. We had always vowed to go to a different camp each year. After Raven Knob we broke that vow and are going back next year. Great camp, great st

For most of my Scouting years, I summer camped at Camp Child in Manomet, MA. The camp is long gone now and I will forever hold a grudge against council for selling it. Troop leadership changed when I was a late teen and was more outgoing. Sandwiched in between my Child years was one summer at Sabattis Scout Reservation in the Adirondacks of NY; camp at the time belonged to Hiawatha Council. Did another summer at Camp Tamaracouta outside Montreal in Quebec, Canada. Did another summer at Henderson Scout Reservation near Cooperstown, NY. Did another summer at T.L. Storer Scout Camp in NH. Planning on hitting summer camp at Onteora Scout Reservation in the Catskills this July.

My first Boy Scout camp experience was at Camp Pipsico (Lions) in Surry, VA, 1974 - 1975.

I went to Philmont in 1976.

We moved over to Camp Pipsico (Kiwanis) in 1976 (I believe), after which Camp Pipsico was closed for a while because of the toxin Kepone in the James River and no pool or alternatives for waterfront activities.

We then went to Camp Brady Saunders in VA for a year, then a couple of years at Chickahominey near Williamsburg, VA.

In 1996 I went with a crew up to Maine and went down the Allagash Wilderness Waterway.

I'm promoting with our Webelos to go to Pipsico again this summer. We'll see where we end up!!
